From this point of view, playing songs on an acoustic guitar is harder than playing songs on an electric guitar.
Electric guitars do not use sound holes to generate sounds. This is why their body is not hollow. The sound produced when you strum the guitar is soft. Electric guitar use pickups to create the sound and an amplifier to make it louder. Because of this you do not have to press down hard on the strings and you do not need pluck hard the strings. Another side effect of the electronically generated sound is that there is no need for large bodies. The neck is also thinner. You can use pedals to manipulate the guitar sounds into all kinds of effects.
If you choose to acquire an acoustic guitar you will be able to play it anywhere you are because you do not need any extra equipment. Things are not so simple with electric guitars. You need an amplifier, pedals and cables in order to play songs. You need to carry them around with your guitar and you can only play in places that have electricity.
