Lucid Dreaming - that is, Conscious Dreaming - is the craft of having awareness while you are deeply dreaming. In other words, while you dream, you know with perfect clarity that every event is not happening as fact, but also this not the 'it's just a dream' experience. For you see, when lucid dreaming, your awareness gives you tremendous power over how the dream goes, almost like consciously fantasizing but having all of the vividness and time-and-place-bending powers of the usual dream.

The undeniable fact is; that feeling of power which one experiences when one can control the direction of a dream, is something directly out of metaphysical existence. To a great extent, many of the limitations with which you've learned to live, simply vanish.

However, is it really that easy to have lucid dreams? Can anyone experience lucid dreaming and reap the benefits?

You can easily practice lucid dreaming. Many studies prove that you have the ability to do this, if you commit yourself to learning how to harness this powerful medium while expressing your inner desires.

The first thing you need to do is to become absolutely certain as to why you want to master the art of lucid dreaming. Do you imagine yourself having your own personal playground built from lucid dreams, or do you have another reason for wanting to learn and develop this skill? Your reason is not of particular importance, providing it is clear in your mind.

That's the prerequisite for learning how to lucid dream. Once you have it down, you'll start on Dream Recall. This means you will clearly recall the dreams you had the previous night. Without Dream Recall, you will never get to the level where you can do lucid dreaming.

This is not going to be an overnight kind of process. You should keep a dream recall register to begin writing down every single detail you can recall of your dreams every day. You will find your capacity for dream call improving as you do so. Try implementing 'reality checks' during your dreams to begin training your mind to be alert as you dream.

For many people, hypnosis has proved to be an invaluable tool with regards to reducing the time required in order to prepare your subconscious mind. In many cases it requires no more than one or two such sessions in order to reach a point where you are able to remember all your dreams on a consistent basis. Once you've acquired this ability then you can be rest assured your mind has been suitably conditioned for lucid dreaming.

When you are lucid dreaming, you may suddenly awake. Don't worry! Recall the details of your dream and try to go back to sleep and continue the dream in the way that you want. When you awake, you may just be surprised! If successful, your dream will have been under your control and your mind will have a new found power.

Now, you can get to lucid dreams more easily by simply going back to sleep a few hours before you intend to wake up for the day.

If you set your alarm clock, say, to go off at at 4AM when you aren't getting up until 6AM, you can then wake up, turn off the alarm, go back to sleep for a couple of hours and have a strong lucid dreaming experience. Along these lines, knowing your own sleeping patterns enables you to figure out the very best times for you to do lucid dreaming.

In addition to any other reasons you may have, lucid dreaming is also known to benefit those suffering from sleeping disorders such as insomnia. If you have difficulty going to sleep at regular hours, you simply need to convince your mind that together with sleeping, comes an opportunity for lucid dreaming. In most cases this will be enough persuasion for your mind to take over the responsibility of clearing away any thoughts which may be preventing you from sleeping.

It's always been hard, however, to actually take the time to prepare the mind for lucid dreaming. But recent advances in sonic technology have made it all more egalitarian.

The technology of binaural audio recordings has been tested and proven to give enormous help to people who want to lucid dream.

These work by playing different frequencies in each ear. This results in relaxing the listener deeply and shifting their brain waves to the frequency that is just right for the occurrence of lucid dreaming.

Before this technology was available the only sure way to be able to lucid dream to order was by the way of meditation techniques which often took years to learn and the perseverance and determination required was too much of a struggle for most people.

When binaural sound waves and hypnosis are used for preparing the subconscious mind it is very possible for you to experience lucid dreaming sooner.
