As a beginning point with finding out about accessing akashic records it is to start with a great idea to learn just what these are and where they reside. Many people do not know anything about or accept as true in the akashic records, so developing an understanding is very important.

In the ancient language known as Sanskrit the word akasha means space. We all know what records are so when the two are combined it essentially means you are looking at a wealth of knowledge somewhere in a space not known to anyone. A simpler and more obvious definition is an infinite amount of data stored in the unreachable cosmic universe.

The five fundamental elements of earth, fire, air, wind and water are foundation principles for the akashic records. These five elements or principles fit to the five human senses. The point is that access to the akashic records as well as the transcription itself is guided by the five principles.

The akashic realms are in a dimension or space of the universe which is non-material. The akashic plane is a depositary for each soul's journey and experiences. The material is said to hold all experiences, feelings and happens that has every occurred in the universe. Other names for the akashic realms include the Universal or Cosmic Mind, or the Book of Life.

The data can be accessed through the subconscious mind either through dreams or deep meditation. In the past it was believed that only such people as psychics could get access to the records. Happily this is wrong and anyone can recover their own records if they have a drive to do so.

We all tend to hide our best material deep inside our subconscious minds, but as stated before we can use any number of hypnotic or meditation methods to recall it. A state of calm and relaxation is a common requirement to start accessing the akashic records.

You may think the akasha is not real or there is no way all this data can be stored somewhere. But you do not have to be religious nor do you have to trust in mysticism or psychical powers. Recollect that our brains gather, store and release information in a similar fashion to a computer. The only difference is that much of our information is stored in akasha and not on a computer chip or in our physical brains. It can be stored and retrieved at a later time just like the material on the chip.
